I\u2019m an electrophysiology technologist and I\u2019ve worked in the hospital industry for 20 years! Cardiology services are often very limited.<\/p>\n

In creating Vie \u00e0 C\u0153ur, I wanted to give people access to exams quickly, something that can save lives! If malignant arrhythmias are detected, a pacemaker or defibrillator can then be implanted quickly or a follow-up with a cardiologist can be scheduled. Atrial fibrillation<\/h3>\n

Atrial fibrillation is a common form of tachycardia. It occurs when the electrical activity of the atria occurs in a very disorganized and rapid pattern. The electrical activity stimulates the atria at random and at a high rate, causing the atria to contract very quickly, preventing the atria from functioning effectively. Although not usually life-threatening, the rapid, irregular, and disordered beating of the ventricles can cause dizziness or palpitations. If atrial fibrillation persists for several days, it may increase the risk of stroke. This is because the blood trapped in the atria can cause clots to form, which can travel from the heart to the brain and then cause a stroke.<\/p>\n

High blood pressure<\/h3>\n

High blood pressure is the greatest risk factor for stroke and a major risk factor for heart disease. By high blood pressure, we mean when the blood pressure rises in your arteries, causing your heart to work harder to pump blood through the blood vessels.<\/p>\n
